About Tī Kōuka Ora

  • Complete the actions in the mini that you and/or your team care about most.

    When you complete a mini, register for your e-bage at Open Badge Factory You will likely need to create an account for login purposes.

    Once you complete more than three minis this year you can also apply for the milestone badge, Tī Kōuka Ora 2024. You can also do this through your Open Badge Factory account.

  • If you’ve done Green Your Scene in the past then this is somewhat similar.

    There are currently 7 minis available, as introductions to the seven visions in Tī Kōuka Ora. All minis have 8 actions within them that allow you to contribute to that vision.

    The Introduction minis are the first in the series – new minis will become available throughout the year as you and/or your team progresses.

    You don’t need to keep track of your actions, but when applying for your badge you will be asked certain prompts to gain knowledge on how you got on.

  • It’s completely up to you.

    Each mini is only 8 actions, so you can do them at a pace that is most manageable for you.

    Each mini is only valid for 2024 so if you’re aiming to get the Tī Kōuka Ora 2024 badge, you’ll want to complete three minis before the end of the year.

    The Sustainability Office are here to help; however, the programme is set up for you to be able to complete each mini without ongoing support.

    Set realistic targets about what you can achieve with Tī Kōuka Ora, then spread your efforts over as many people as you like – make the programme work for you.

The E-Badges

  • The badges are great ways to showcase your efforts to your colleagues, managers and wider University community. There is a badge for every mini, this way you can collect as many as you like.

    Complete more than three minis this year and you will be able to collect a milestone bagdge, the Tī Kōuka Ora 2024 badge.

  • Open Badge Passport

    Display your e-badges on the Badge Passport. Badge earners will receive the issued badge straight to their Open badge Passport account where they can approve or reject the badge.

    LinkedIn

    Share your e-badges on your profile on LinkedIn. This is a great way to share your success with your colleagues.

    Email Signature

    Download and add the PNG of your e-badge to your email signature to continue to celebrate your mahi.

  • Tī Kōuka Ora is the perfect way to tie together planning, sustainability related conversations and collective visions that you and your team might have. You will also have the opportunity to connect with experts and share your knowledge and passion. Tī Kōuka Ora provides the perfect way to share your success, your learnings and help spark interest in sustainability.

  • Promoting sustainability is just as good for you as for the environment – it makes your workspace, kitchen, lab or college more efficient, integrates people, and helps motivate staff and students.

    You’ll also be championing the Tī Kõuka - Sustainability Strategic Framework, Pae Tata and the Sustainable Development Goals.

  • The Sustainability Office team can answer questions and connect you to the right people.

    The Sustainability Office also has many things happening for you to get involved in such as events, spaces, podcasts and initiatives.

  • Tī Kōuka Ora can break staff and students out of silos, get people talking, and engage more and more people, to spark change within our whole University. The Sustainability Strategic Framework is bold in its vision, any efforts to support this make huge collective impact.
